I work primarily in traditional media, which means commissions from me generate an image and a physical object. The price depends on the actual commission: The more motifs you want (characters, complicated objects, animals) the higher the price will be. If you want only a simple background or a monochrome rendering, it may become cheaper.  Regardless of the medium or size of the image commission, you have two ways to enjoy the art that results:

Option #1: You may purchase a High Resolution digital file and the limited rights to display and print paper copies of the image, and also receive a medium resolution digital file released as creative commons to "publish" non-commercially to your blogs, forums, emails, whatever, or use in a custom signature/avatar. The original work and matted limited-edition prints of the image will then be available for open sale. If you would like to receive a signed print of an image you've commissioned for $40 or more, please note that with your postal code in the commission request so I can calculate your additional shipping charge.

Option #2: When you purchase an original at the time of commissioning the image, you will get a substantially lower price than the post-commission price, and you will also automatically receive a medium resolution (max 150 dpi) digital file released under creative commons to "publish" non-commercially to your blogs, forums, emails, whatever, or use in a custom signature/avatar. Only 250 prints will ever be run of that image.

Please read the following notes before you continue!

- The prices listed here are ALL for OPTION #1! If you are interested in purchasing additional signed prints or the original artwork, PLEASE make note of that in your initial request, so that I can invoice you properly.
- Payment is due after your approval of the preliminary sketch I'll send you. Any changes you want made to the pose or relevant details of the figure/costume/props/background need to be stipulated at this point. and a modified preliminary sketch will be sent for approval. Please note that the commissioned work will not begin until payment has posted to my account.
- You may withdraw your order only before the approval of the preliminary sketch
- No major changes will be done to the picture after the approval of the preliminary sketch.
- I retain the copyright to the image.
- I retain the right to refuse any commission if I don't like the subject, or if a sketch cannot be agreed upon in a reasonable amount of time.
- I am open to all requests within reason - my style is what it is, and I reserve the right to exercise artistic license in rendering the subject.
-Intense detail such as scales, tattoos, or other small fiddly bits may incur an extra charge and/or take longer to produce.
- For any additional element besides the main figure/s, like background, objects or anything relevant that needs to be drawn please add $10 to the total price (ask me for further info).

I do draw/paint:
1. human/anthro figures and portraits
2. costume/prop design
3. flora/fauna

I don't draw/paint:
1. mecha/cars/trucks/planes/trains...
2. landscapes/stilllife/architectural (Well - minimal, in the background is ok but... they take forever so for now... No. Please. Have mercy.)

To order a commission send me a NOTE with the title Drawing/Painting Commission order from (your DA name) with the following information:
Type/size of commission:
Number of characters (if needed):
Total price:
Paypal/contact email address:
Detailed Character info/description and references:

NOTE : These prices are for PERSONAL USE only! I do commercial illustration as well, but the nature of the transaction is a little different. If you would like to commission me for commercial or commercial reproduction of my work please contact me first.

Many of my previous commissions may be found in my Commission gallery [link]

Examples:</b>
Headshot, small

5x7. Pencil drawing on paper. May be multiplied over a parchment texture ~which I make~ in photoshop for the sake of style. No hands, no armor details, very simple background if at all - all the focus is on the likeness.
$20

Bust Portrait, small

5x7. Pencil drawing on paper. May be multiplied over a parchment texture ~which I make~ in photoshop for the sake of style. Hands are shown expressively, or with simple props, no armor details, very simple background if at all - all the focus is on the likeness and spirit.
$25

Half-length Portrait, small
[link]
5x7. Pencil drawing on paper. May be multiplied over a parchment texture ~which I made~ in photoshop for the sake of style. Hands are shown expressively, possibly with props. Armor is given detail and attention, but there is little to no background. It's all about the character.
$30

Full length Portrait, small

5x7. Pencil drawing on paper. May be multiplied over a parchment texture ~which I make~ in photoshop for the sake of style. Hands are shown expressively. Armor is given detail and attention, but there is little to no background. There's much less detail in the face - the gesture of the pose holds the expression.
$30

Full length Portrait
FORTHCOMING
8x10. Pencil drawing on paper. May be multiplied over a parchment texture ~which I make~ in photoshop for the sake of style. Hands are shown expressively. Armor and weapons are given detail and attention, but there is little to no background. There's more detail in a Portrait this size than a 5x7, especially in the face, but the gesture of the pose still holds the expression.
$50

Half-length double Portrait

8x10. Pencil drawing on paper. May be multiplied over a parchment texture ~which I make~ in photoshop for the sake of style. Hands are shown expressively. Armor is given detail and attention, but there is little to no background. There's more detail in a Portrait this size than a 5x7, especially in the face, but the gesture of the pose still holds the expression.

Bust Watercolor Portrait
[link] [link]
8x11. Watercolor, pencil and ink on paper. May be multiplied over a parchment texture ~which I make~ in photoshop if I feel it improves the style of the piece. Hands may not be shown if there are other adornments or props. Armor is given detail and attention, but there is little to no background. Color palette may be limited for harmony of expression. It's all about the expression of spirit.

Hands are shown expressively, possibly with props. Armor and weapons are given detail and attention, but there is little to no background. Color palette may be limited for harmony of expression. There is less detail in the face, and much of the expression is carried in the gesture of the body.

FAQ:
Why does the size of the original matter if I'm buying a digital file?
Well, I have to draw it, and the size influences the time it takes and the amount of detail that can go into the piece. The size of the original also limits the size at which the piece can be reproduced.

How can you sell prints of my character? Do I get royalties?
Unless you purchased the image rights from me, I retain the copyright on my artwork in perpetuity. It's your character, and I give credit to the creator of the character both in the DA gallery and in the work itself, but the art I made is still mine to sell or pull prints of.

Why aren't the boobies/swords/whatever bigger?
There are plenty of artists who are great at those things - I'm not one of 'em. I draw what I draw, I paint what I paint. I'm game to give most things a go once or twice, but there's still the matter of my own personal aesthetic.
